Chud asked: I am looking to sell my current Mac book to buy the newer model. I wish to back up my computer so that it can be used on my new one. I believe that the Migration Assistant can transfer data from Mac-to-Mac but I will have the two together as I am selling the first. I plan to back up my current Mac to an external hard drive (not a Time Machine, though). How can i back up my hard drive to an external hard drive and then transfer that to my new Mac Book?

You know how when you get a new mac and you are configuring it at the very beginning and it asks you if you have any other macs to copy the hard drive over. Yea i was just wondering because i was planning on getting a new macbook pro and was wondering if it would transfer all of my data.
And also could you tell me if the new macbooks do come with snow leopard, which if they dont then i guess my first question wouldnt work.

DeliciouslyDark asked: When I had Adobe Photoshop installed onto my old Mac, I didn’t buy a disk or anything. Someone I know had a technician over and told me that I could have a number of programs installed onto my laptop, Adobe Photoshop amongst them. So what is a way I can transfer it onto my new Mac? I tried copying the application onto my new Mac using a flash disk, but it didn’t open, there was some sort of error. Can anybody help?
Thanks in advance.

Would like to know if I can use the software that comes with a new Mac to upgrade an old Mac. Old MacBook has Tiger and iLife ‘07, would like to use the software that comes with a new Mac to upgrade it to Leopard and iLife ‘09. Is this possible for either of them? Hopefully both.

My old PC broke, so I went and bought a Mac. My iPod is PC-formatted, though, and I want to add new songs to it/put all my current songs on the Mac. Is there a program I could download that will let me re-format it to Mac without losing all my songs?

So I have a MacBook Pro 15-inch Rechargeable Battery and want to sell it, but first I want to make sure that it works. Does anyone know if there’s a way to tell if it works or not, without the computer?
Thank you!

I have mirroring turned on and have messed with resolution and aspect ratio settings on the macbook with no luck. I have also auto adjusted the picture on my TV. It is hooked up through the mini-DVI to VGA adapter. My TV is Vizio VO420E and I have the black macbook. Any suggestions?

All of the Apple Macbook products have upgraded their line, and I am choosing to buy either a Macbook or a Macbook Pro to be used for digital video editing and some photoshop work? In your opinion, which one is the best. I may consider the 13″.

jamie-grace asked: Like how for PC there’s Win95, then 98, 2000, XP, XP Home, XP Office and Vista (that might be out of order but I’m sure you catch my drift..). What is the order for Macintosh?
