What is the difference between a Macbook and a Macbook Pro?
Nathan asked:
I am planning to buy a Mac soon, and I am not sure if I should get the Macbook or the Macbook Pro. I know that the Pro is obviously better, but what additional features does it have? Is it worth the extra money? Thanks!

The White Macbook is meant more for everyday use, such as Email, LIGHT gaming, and like photos and music.
Where as the Macbook Pro, is more meant for harder tasks, such as video/photo editing, business, and gaming, the Macbook Pro also has more features as in the software, although the Macbook has 250GB hard drive and the 13″ macbook pro only has 160GB, but the Macbook pro has more apps and so on.

A Macbook Pro, firstly, is more expensive than a regular Macbook, this is for a few good reasons.
1. Macbook Pros have newer and more powerful graphics cards than the regular Macbook, meaning that you can play games, watch movies, etc. in better quality than if you watched them on a regular Macbook.
2. Macbook Pros have a more powerful processor, meaning a faster laptop.
3. Macbook Pros have higher range sound cards, meaning that you can listen to music in better quality than a Macbook.
4. You can generally have more Ram, and hard drive memory on a Macbook Pro.
5. They are more fun to use, with additional programs and more technical statistics they are better in nearly every way.
6. They also have wider screens, the regular macbook can only have 13″ screens, whereas, the Macbook Pro can have to 18″ screens.
Hope this helps =)
There used to be considerable differences but with the new current range it boils down to this:
In the 13″:
Plastic case vs Aluminum.
Pro has a firewire 800 port and an SD card slot.
Pro has a backlit keyboard.
Pro is more configurable – different drives, cpu’s, memory.
Otherwise in terms of graphics, applications etc. they are identical.
The real differences come when you move up to 15″ or 17″ machines.
You can compare them on the Apple site and select ‘build your own’.
